BSH survey, wreck search and research vessels

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) in Hamburg operates two pure survey vessels and three special vessels that are used as survey, wreck search and research vessels (VWFS):

The ship is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure .

The Atair is to be replaced by a new building of the same name in 2020 . The order to build the new ship went to the Fassmer shipyard in December 2016, with a budget of just under 114 million euros. The new building will then be the BSH's largest ship. The ship, which is equipped with an LNG propulsion system, will offer space for 15 scientists in addition to a crew of 18 people.
