Missing is a German real-life documentary series. It is produced by Endemol and has been broadcast by RTL since November 18, 2007 . Sandra Eckardt moderated the show from 2012 to 2020 .

Actions

In the television series, the presenter is called to a person who has not seen a loved one for years. After getting enough information about the missing person, she goes on a search. The moderator searches until she finds the person herself, not just her current location. This can lead to surprise the person at work or on vacation. Usually each shipment comprises two cases. For the series, the presenter visits almost every continent and spends an average of up to three months looking for the missing person. The off-speaker is usually Patrick Linke .

Since the fourth season, cases have also been shown in which the wanted person was not found and calls are made to report if the missing person is known. In February 2011 a special was shown with the title: Missing Special - Vanished without a trace . Two special editions followed under the name Vermisst - Das Wiedersehen , in which Julia Leischik visited some families and people who were reunited.
