Veronica Zappone (born April 11, 1993 in Segrate ) is an Italian curler .

Career

Zappone played for the first time internationally in the European Junior Challenge 2011. As second of the Italian team, she won the bronze medal. After a fourth place in 2013, she won the European Junior Challenge 2014 as fourth. She qualified for the Junior World Championship 2014 , where she played as a skip and finished 9th.

After a 10th and 13th place at the European Championships in 2013 and 2014, she won the bronze medal at the European Championships 2017 as third of the Italian team under Skip Diana Gaspari .

In 2017 she played for the first time at a world championship ; the Italians came in 10th with Zappone as third and Gaspari as Skip. In the same year, she moved into the final against China at the qualifying tournament for the 2018 Winter Olympics , but lost the game against Wang Bingyu's team . Since the game for the second qualifying place against the team from Denmark around Denise Dupont was lost, she missed participation in the games in Pyeongchang .
