Denise Dupont (born May 24, 1984 in Glostrup ) is a Danish curler . She currently plays third in her sister Madeleine Dupont's team .

Career

She won her first medal in an international competition at the European Championships in 2002 as second in Skip Dorthe Holm's team . At the European Championships in 2003 and 2005 , she won the bronze medal with Dorthe Holm. Two more bronze medals followed in 2008 and 2009 with Skip Angelina Jensen .

Dupont has participated in ten world championships so far. In 2007 she lost with Jensen in the final against the Canadian team around Kelly Scott . At the 2009 World Cup , she and the Danish team led by Jensen missed the finals due to a semi-final defeat against Sweden with Skip Anette Norberg . In the game for third place, however, the Danes were able to prevail against Jennifer Jones' Canadian team .

At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she finished 8th with the team around Skip Dorthe Holm after a 9: 8 against Canada. In February 2010, Dupont took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver (Canada) as a member of the Danish team . The team around Skip Angelina Jensen took fifth place. In December 2017 she secured Denmark with her sister Madeleine Dupont (Skip), Julie Høgh (Second), Mathilde Halse (Lead) and Lina Knudsen (Alternate) by beating the Italian team around Diana Gaspari at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Pilsen as one of the two last starting places for the Olympic Winter Games 2018 in Pyeongchang . There she came with the Danish team after one victory and eight defeats in the Round Robin in tenth and last place.

Private life

Dupont has a daughter. Her younger sister Madeleine is also a curler and belongs to the same team as Denise. Her brother Oliver played in the Danish men's national team under Skip Rasmus Stjerne . Her mother Gitte won the bronze medal with the Danish team at the 1990 World Championships and her father Kim took part in the 1980 and 1981 Junior World Championships.
