The Reconciliation Church in Heilbronn-Böckingen

The Reconciliation Church is a Protestant church on Holunderweg 54 in the Heilbronn district of Böckingen . The church is an extension of a community center that has existed since 1971 and was consecrated in 1996.

history

In 1971, a community center for the evangelical resurrection parish with a community hall, kindergarten, sports field and green areas was built on Elderweg. In the early 1990s, the plan came up to create an inexpensive second worship service in addition to the Church of the Resurrection for the congregation, which had around 6,500 members . So, according to plans by Rolf Krautter, the rotunda of the Reconciliation Church was built as an extension to the community center on Elderweg. Construction began in November 1994 and the church was consecrated on March 31, 1996. The church itself only holds 90 visitors, but can be combined with the older parish hall to a total capacity of 330 visitors.

The sacred building is a round building with a diameter of twelve meters. The altar area is located in the north of the church interior, with the wall segment behind the altar being moved outwards. A large cross is emblazoned on the outside of the altar wall. The church interior is covered by a sloping roof that rises to the north; the church interior is illuminated by an artistically designed strip of glass windows running around below the ceiling.

The glass windows and the altar cross are by Raphael Seitz . The altar , ambo and baptismal font are made of oak and come from Bernd Stöcker .
