The utilities and transport company Hannover mbH (ICA) is a holding company whose shares to 80.49 percent of the state capital of Hanover , and 19.51 percent of the region Hannover are held.

The VVG was founded in 1971 in order to merge the Stadtwerke Hannover with üstra, which was communalized after the "Roter Punkt" campaign, in a holding company.

The headquarters are in the Linden-Mitte district . The company has 17 employees (as of 2008). It has a supervisory board consisting of 20 members, 10 of whom are shareholders and 10 are employees.

tasks

The subsidiaries of VVG deal with the supply of electricity, gas, water and heat, energy trading (Stadtwerke), the provision of infrastructure for local public transport (infra) and the operation of local public transport (üstra).

VVG is connected to its affiliated companies via profit transfer and domination agreements. Due to its responsibility for local public transport, the Hanover region compensates for the losses incurred by VVG in this context.
