The Schmalfelder Au rises southwest of Bad Segeberg in the Segeberger Forest ( Schleswig-Holstein ) and is 15.4 km long. It is a source river of the Hudau / Bramau . The difference in altitude is 10 m.

In Schmalfeld , the stone King's Bridge, built around 1850, crosses the river.
