The infra Infrastrukturgesellschaft Region Hannover GmbH has been the owner of the infrastructure facilities of the Hannover Stadtbahn since July 1, 2001 . This includes all rail routes , tunnels , stops and underground stations as well as transfer facilities and park-and-ride spaces.

The task of infra is the maintenance and expansion of its systems as well as leasing them to transport companies so that they can offer their public transport services there. The current sole user is üstra .

Infra is a 100% subsidiary of the supply and transport company Hanover , which also includes Stadtwerke Hanover and üstra. The VVG is again owned by the city of Hanover (80.49%) and the Hanover region (19.51%).

The systems include:

  • 127 kilometers of route network
  • 253.1 kilometers of track, 39 km of which are in the tunnel (84% of the above-ground routes are on their own track and 16% in the road space)
  • 202 stops, including 19 underground stations and 128 elevated platforms (standard on new routes since 1994)
  • 51 substations (rectifiers)
  • 1 parking garage
  • 19 P + R facilities
