VesselSat is a constellation of three microsatellites that are used to identify and track ships on the world's oceans using a satellite-based Automatic Identification System (AIS).

They are to be used in the context of the Orbcomm constellation. This involves tracking ships on the high seas and the transmission of telemetry and technical data packages. Two satellites are leased to ORBCOMM to replace their failed quick-launch satellites.

The cube-shaped satellites, which weigh around 28 kg, were built by Luxembourg- based LuxSpace Sarl (a subsidiary of the Bremen-based space company OHB System AG ). They each carry two AIS receivers, each with a dipole antenna composed of two 1.7 m elements.
