The Vestbanestasjon ( German  Westbahnhof ), colloquially simply called Vestbanen , is a former station building in Oslo , Norway . It is located at Brynjulf ​​Bulls plass 1. It was built in 1872 and served as the final station of the Drammenbane until the new central station was opened in 1989 .

Station building

The station building was designed by the architect Georg Andreas Bull in the style of historicism . It was built as a plastered brick building. The facade to the Town Hall Square ( Rådhusplassen ), framed by two low towers, is diagonal to the main direction of the building. The windows and doors are decorated with round arches.

The building is home to the now Nobel Peace Center ( Norwegian Nobel Fredssenter , English Nobel Peace Center ).
