Gil Young-ah ( Korean 길영아 ; born April 11, 1970 in Ansan ) is a former badminton player from South Korea .

Career

At the 1991 World Championships, Gil Young-ah won the bronze medal in doubles together with her partner Shim Eun-jung . At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , the two were able to repeat their performance and also won bronze. Gil changed partners, started together with Chung So-young at the 1993 World Championships and won bronze again. After another partner change, Gil Young-ah started together with Jang Hye-ock at the 1995 World Championships and this time reached the final in doubles. In this, the two won and won the gold medal. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , Gil and Jang took part in the doubles tournament and won silver after losing to the Chinese Gu Jun and Ge Fei in the final . In the mixed tournament held for the first time, Gil started with Park Joo-bong and won the gold medal.
