Veterama is the name of two trade fairs in Mannheim and Hockenheim . The Veterama in Mannheim in October is Europe's largest spare parts market for classic and youngtimers. The offer ranges from old-timer spare parts, tools, literature, accessories, toys, technology to complete vehicles (cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles). Dealers and exhibitors come from all over Europe for this event.

While the Techno-Classica and the Retro Classics are more like trade fairs and mainly show and sell restored vintage cars, the Veterama is a market where you can find the necessary spare parts.

history

Veterama 2008

Veterama is the abbreviation for Veteranen-Markt-Mannheim. It was launched in 1975 by the two vintage car collectors Winfried A. Seidel (owner of the Dr. Carl Benz car museum ) and Walter Metz on the old Maimarkt site in Mannheim.

  • 1975: The first event was attended by 30 dealers with temporary folding tables and around 1,500 collectors were customers. The event grew over the years.
  • 1985: Due to the demand, the fair moved to a more spacious area, the new Maimarkt area with 260,000 m².
  • 1983: As a supplement to the Autumn Veterama, a spring event was held in Ludwigshafen am Rhein . The venue was the Friedrich-Ebert site including the Eberthalle . The 65,000 m² site offers space for over 500 dealers.
  • 1992: Due to the booming vintage two-wheeler scene, the organizers split the fair into two events, a pure two-wheeler event and a mixed Veterama, based on the Mannheim model.
  • 2002: For the first time around 4000 exhibitors from all over Europe come together on the new Maimarkt area. Around 70,000 visitors take advantage of the three weekends of the event.
  • 2012: The last two spring meetings took place in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. Since then there has been the big autumn event in Mannheim and a spring event at the Hockenheimring .
  • 2013: In March, the Veterama took place for the first time at the Hockenheimring . Around 20,000 visitors and 2500 participants attended the premiere event.
