history

The club was founded in 1887 on March 25th as the Turn-Club Hainholz . A second club (Men's Gymnastics Club (MTV) Hainholz) was established in 1896 and in 1907 a third (SV Union) club was founded in Hainholz. In 1919 and 1920 the merger took place under the name Turnerschaft Hainholz from 1887 . After quarrels and a renewed separation, the " Reichsbund für Leibesübungen " asked to merge in 1934 , the name was now Turn- und Sportverein (TSV) from 1887 Hainholz . Georg Isenberg and Hannes Mehlbauer were national rugby players in the 1930s .

After the Second World War , several departments from the main association broke up. In 1963 the rugby department was also dissolved, as the players had joined the Nordstädter TV 09 (Hanover). Since then, popular sports and football have been played at VfV .
