The Viðarlundin í Vági is the second largest of five forests and parks of the Faroese island of Suðuroy is the southernmost island of the archipelago in the North Atlantic . The Faroese word viðarlund literally means “wood”, it describes a park or a forest in the Faroe Islands, of which only 0.06% is forested.

The Viðarlundin í Vági extends to the north of the city of Vágur and consists mainly of ash , spruce and birch. Several paved paths lead through it, from which you have a beautiful view of the city of Vágur and the fjord of the same name in several places. Like all forests and parks outside the capital Tórshavn , it is fenced in to protect the trees from the sheep looking for food.

The city council of Vágur decided in 1956 to create a forest or park. The wood covers an area of ​​19,000 m² on corridor 41 and an area of ​​11,100 m² on corridor 44. Total is Viðarlundin í Vági 30,100 square meters and it one of the ausgedehntesten forests and parks of the Faroe Islands.
