The Via Dinarica is a long-distance hiking trail network in the Dinaric Alps that extends over 2000 kilometers and consists of the White Trail , the Blue Trail and the Green Trail . It connects the western Balkan countries Slovenia , Croatia , Bosnia and Herzegovina , Montenegro and Albania .

The Via Dinarica project was launched in 2010 with the aim of promoting and developing tourism in the Western Balkans.

White Trail

The White Trail is the main route of the Via Dinarica. It runs along the main ridge of the Dinaric Alps and crosses the highest peak in each of the participating countries.

Blue Trail

The Blue Trail runs near the Adriatic coast, which is why only low mountains are crossed.

Green Trail

The Green Trail runs in the hinterland through extensive coniferous forests and the foothills of the Dinaric Mountains. It is also very suitable for mountain bikers.
