Lee Anthony Mavers (born August 2, 1962 in Liverpool , United Kingdom ) is a British musician who became known as the front man of the rock band The La’s .

Mavers founded The La's in 1986 with John Power and other musicians in Liverpool, after a few concerts Go! Discs noticed them and signed the group. Mavers was the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter for the band. The group's first singles such as Way Out (1987), There She Goes (1988) and Timeless Melody (1988) could not live up to the band's demands with low chart positions. In addition, the group's debut album was released until 1990. This was mainly due to Maver's perfectionism, which led to the breaking off of several recording sessions. The album The La’s (1990) was released without the band's direct consent, as the band's label was getting impatient. The LP reached the top 40 on the UK charts and a remake of There She Goes number 13 on the charts. It is therefore the musician's biggest hit. After The La's broke up in 1992, Mavers disappeared from the public eye. From 1994 he appeared again sporadically with The La's at festivals and as the opening act for Paul Weller , Oasis and other artists in England. Although Mavers reportedly wrote new material, new recordings with the group have not yet been made.

One of Lee Mavers' admirers is Pete Doherty ( The Libertines and Babyshambles ), who appeared on stage with him in 2009.
