Vicenç Coromina i Bartrina

Vicenç Coromina i Bartrina (* 1943 in Olot ) is a Catalan gallery owner, art dealer and art patron from the artist town of Olot, who has done a lot to document and promote contemporary artists from Olot, but also from all of Catalonia .

Life

As a pupil he attended elementary school and later the business school of the Fathers Escolapis in Olot. He later attended the Acadèmia Almi in Olot. With this commercial apprenticeship, he joined his family's food and wine business in Olot as a young man. Here he was primarily responsible for the delivery business. A man of determination and initiative, he entered other business fields, especially culture and event management. He organized dance events in the Ideal ballroom , in the Saló Nobel and in other locations in and around Olot. From 1980 he was a partner in Discoteka Pigall from Camprodon and Kratters from Olot. He later took part in the Teatre Principal of Olot for six years . He was the initiator of the production of the film Naftalina, shot in Olot in 1982 .

In 1975 Coromina entered the publishing business in Olot. As a result of this activity, he has published many publications on contemporary art in Olot and in Catalonia. In addition, he has been an important driver of the Olotens art scene in terms of organization and business since the 1980s. He organized various art auctions, art fairs and art exhibitions in Olot. Some of these events took place in his Olotensian art gallery Els 4 Cantons ( The Four Corners ), where art talks were often and still are held.

Coromina has made lasting merit by editing and publishing non-academic reviews on the Olotens art scene such as Olot Art and Doscents Anys de Pintura. (Two Hundred Years of Painting in Olot, 1979); 80 Artistes Olotins del anys 80 (80 Olotensian artists from the 1980s, 1982) and acquired from monographs on individual artists such as those by Rafael Griera , Manuel Zamora Muñoz or Joan Vila i Arimany .
