Vicenta María López y Vicuña

Vicenta María López y Vicuña (born March 22, 1847 in Cascante del Rio, Spain , † December 26, 1890 in Madrid , Spain) was a Spanish religious founder. She is a saint of the Catholic Church.

Vicenta Maria began at the age of 19 to take care of the religious education of female domestic workers. Together with her aunt, she founded a home for girls looking for work, from which the religious order of the Daughters of the Immaculate Conception of Mary emerged in 1876 . The order received papal confirmation in 1888.

Vicenta María López y Vicuña was founded in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. beatified and in 1975 by Pope Paul VI. canonized.
