Vicente Romano
Vicente Romano (also Vicente Romano Garcia ; * 1935 ; † June 14, 2014 ) was a Spanish media scholar and expert in the field of communication, who extensively investigated the relationships between culture, communication and consciousness in the areas of sociology, education, social services and functions , Social development and interculturality.
Live and act
Vicente Romano studied information science and obtained a PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid . In the further course of his studies he received his doctorate cum laude in social communication at the University of Münster (Germany).
He has worked as a university teacher and researcher in Germany, France, the United States, Canada, Brazil and Spain. In Spain, he held a professorship in the Faculty of Sociology IV of the Complutense University of Madrid and was full professor of communication at the University of Seville, where he retired in 2005. In his final years he headed the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) department of Economy and Culture of the Foundation for Marxist Research (FIM).
He was the author of 15 works and co-author of 11 others, as well as thirteen chapters in compilations, 21 introductions, 130 articles in Spanish and international journals, speaker of more than 100 lectures and presentations at national and international conferences and seminars.
