Victor André Cornil (also: André-Victor Cornil; born June 17, 1837 in Cusset , Département Allier , † April 13, 1908 ) was a French pathologist and histologist .

Cornil studied medicine in Paris , where he received his doctorate in 1864 . In 1865 he founded a private laboratory with Louis-Antoine Ranvier .

His research areas were pathological anatomy, bacteriology, histology and microscopic anatomy.

In 1870 he was prefect of his home department for a short time. He later became a deputy.
