Mockethal is a district of Pirna in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district , Saxony . Mockethal is on the Elbe . The former Pirna – Herrenleite railway line runs close to the village .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1417 as Mütal . The spelling of the place name changed several times. 1417: Mütal, 1420: Mogtal, 1445/47: Mocktal, 1451: Mocketal, 1457: Mockental, 1517: Mackenthal, 1547: Muckethal, since 1791 to today's Mockethal.
The place was parish after Dorf Wehlen in 1539 and has belonged to the parish of Dorf Wehlen since 1930.
Mockethal had his own Erbrichter with fully licensed . The Gasthof Zum grau Storch has stood here since 1900 .
The town center is a Slavic round with predominantly three-sided courtyards . In the upper floors you can still find half-timbered buildings , while the basement floors were built in massive sandstone . In 1900 the area was 287 ha.
On July 1, 1950 Mockethal was incorporated into Pirna.

Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to agriculture, the Mockethalers mainly operated sandstone crushing.
Local public transport is provided by the Pirna city traffic through line M, as well as line 238 in the Upper Elbe public transport network .
