Liebethal is a district of Pirna , the district town of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district .

The district is located in the northeast of the city on the right side of the Elbe , above the Liebethaler Grund through which the Wesenitz flows . Neighboring districts are Bonnewitz in the west and Hinterjessen in the southwest. Lohmen borders to the east . The alley village , surrounded by a block corridor, was first mentioned in 1241 as part of the name of a "Heinricus de Libendal". Liebethal was an official village and was subordinate to the Stolpen office . In 1856 the Pirna court office was responsible. On the basis of the rural community order of 1838 , Liebethal gained independence as a rural community. In 1875 it was part of the Pirna Authority ; in the time of the GDR it belonged to the Pirna district . On June 1, 1971, it was incorporated into Pirna .
