Victor Civita

Victor Civita (born February 9, 1907 in New York , † August 24, 1990 in São Paulo ) was an Italian-American businessman, journalist and naturalized Brazilian . In 1950 he was the founder of Editora Abril , the largest printing and publishing house in Latin America .

His son Roberto Civita (1936–2013) was CEO and editorial director of Grupo Abril until his death .

Back then, Civita differed from other entrepreneurs in that it was present with its employees in their daily work. It is said that when he launched his first magazine, Pato Donald ( Donald Duck ), he personally put up posters for the trams of São Paulo with the words: " Donald Duck is here! "
