Victor Oelkers

Victor Oelkers (born April 7, 1881 in Wittingen ; † April 13, 1958 ibid) was a Lower Saxony politician ( DP ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Oelkers attended elementary school in Wittingen and the Ernestinum grammar school in Celle. After graduating from school, he began studying veterinary medicine in Munich and Berlin. He did his doctorate in Giessen. After completing his studies, he became a district veterinarian in Wittingen. In the First World War he was a participant in the war from 1914 to 1918. Between 1924 and 1928 he was senator for the city of Wittingen. In 1946 he became mayor of Wittingen. He was also a member of the district council of the great Gifhorn district. Oelkers was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament for the first and second electoral periods from April 20, 1947 to May 5, 1955. From March 28, 1951, he was a member of the DP / CDU parliamentary group.
