After graduating from high school, she studied computer technology at the Lviv National Polytechnic University and, after completing her master's degree, worked in the IT industry as a programmer and manager. So far, Amelina has published two novels. In her first novel “Herbst-Syndrom oder Homo compatiens” the highly empathetic protagonist experienced several social upheavals or revolutions of the 21st century, especially the one on Cairo's Tahrir Square in 2011 and finally the Euromajdan 2013/14.

Her second novel "A House for Cathedral" is centered around a house at the High Castle near Lemberg, which turns out to be the former home of the writer Stanisław Lem . The family saga is told from the perspective of a dog named Dominik. Neither the dog nor the house really takes in the new owners for a long time. So it is about Lviv city history, memory in general, coping with the legacy of 70 years of Soviet Union coining and thus also about " decommunization ". Perhaps the former pilot from eastern Ukraine and the dog are finally feeling at home in Lviv in the 1990s, especially after one begins to remember the many layers of history? Amelina's stories always add a good dose of mystery and symbolism.

In 2016 Amelina published her first children's book: “Irgendwer, oder Wasserherz”.

The author occasionally publishes on the blog page zbrucz.eu, which is mainly used by writers.

She has been a member of the PEN Club since February 2018.

Her first novel was nominated for the Koronacija Slova award in 2015 and was shortlisted for several Ukrainian literary awards (Litakcent, Valery Shevchuk Prize).
