history

The story goes back to the founding of a school in the Austrian ruled Lemberg in 1817, which was elevated to a technical academy in 1844. In the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria (1900–1918) the rector of the university had a virile vote in the Galician state parliament . After 1918 Lviv came to the Second Republic of Poland , then in 1939 and again from 1945 to Ukraine, with the Polish professors moving to Wroclaw .

Partner universities in Germany

In 2014 the University of Würzburg started an extensive partnership with the National Polytechnic University of Lviv. The partnership includes a certification course, with the help of which it should be easier for young Lviv researchers to find a doctoral or internship position in Germany.
