The Borys-Hrinchenko University of Kiev ( Ukrainian Київський університет імені Бориса Грінченка , English Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University ) is a university founded in 1874 in Kiev . It was named after the Ukrainian writer, teacher, linguist, ethnographer and politician Borys Hrinchenko .

In 2009 the university was given university status and its current name.

The university consists of 10 institutions with a total of 8,783 students and 743 lecturers. Of these, 150 have the title of professor or doctorate (as of 2019).

The university has six institutes and four faculties:

  • Institute for Art

  • Faculty of Law and International Relations
