Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture ( Ukrainian Київський національний університет будівництва і архітектури (КНУБА) ; English Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture ( KNUCA ) , formerly Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute ) is a 1930 founded University in Kiev , Ukraine .
overview
In 1930 the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute was established by the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (NTUU "KPI") and the Department of Architecture of the Kiev Art Academy .
In 1993 the government of Ukraine renamed the institute to the State University of Building and Architecture and, by decree of the Ukrainian President in 1999, to the National University of Building and Architecture .
Since the university was founded, around 40,000 architects and engineers have been trained, 1,500 of them from more than 70 countries around the world. In 2005 about 7,500 students study at the university; of the approx. 700 scientific staff, approx. 120 are professors and lecturers. Degrees are possible in 25 different subjects. Over 2,000 students study at the KNUCA distance learning center.
