Volodymyr Polyachenko
Volodymyr Avrumowytsch Polyachenko ( Ukrainian Володимир Аврумович Поляченко ; born August 14, 1938 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ; † April 20, 2012 ibid) was a Ukrainian politician, entrepreneur and honorary consul .
Life
Volodymyr Polyachenko studied engineering at the Faculty of Concrete and Concrete Products of the Kiev University of Construction and Architecture from 1956 to 1961 and then began a career in the construction industry, until he became president of Kyivmiskbud Holding ( Київміськбуд ), the leading company in the construction industry, in 1992 in Ukraine and a major operator of the Ukrainian real estate market, and from 1995 to 2006 was its chairman.
From October 2002 to April 2006 Polyachenko was a member of the Kiev City Council and from 2006 to 2012 he was a member of the Our Ukraine Bloc in the Verkhovna Rada . In parliament he was deputy chairman of the committee on building, urban development and housing.
In addition, Polyachenko was Honorary Consul of the Republic of Chile in Ukraine, since 2008 a member of the board of directors of the National Bank of Ukraine , a freelance advisor to the Prime Minister and the President of Ukraine, and an academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Construction and Architecture. He died in Kiev and is buried there in the Baikowe cemetery .
Private
Volodymyr Polyachenko was married twice and had a son (* 1963) and a daughter (* 1995). His son Yuri Polyachenko is a doctor and was Ukrainian Minister of Health from October 12, 2005 to March 23, 2007 in the Yekhanurov cabinet and in the second Yanukovych cabinet . His hobby was fishing .

Volodymyr Polyachenko received numerous honors. Including:

- 2003 Hero of Ukraine
- 2003 State Prize of Ukraine for Architecture

- 2008 Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 5th class
