Monika Hamann , b. Meyer (born June 8, 1954 in Waren an der Müritz ) is a German athlete who - starting for the GDR - won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 1978 with the 4 x 100 meter relay (44.4 s; together with Johanna Klier , Carla Bodendorf , Marlies Göhr ). She was fourth in each of these European championships in the 100-meter run and in the 200-meter run . In 1976 she became GDR champion over 100 m. It also started at the European Championships in 1971 in the 100-meter run and was eliminated in the semifinals.

In 1975 she won in 7.24 s at the European Indoor Championships in Katowice over 60 meters silver behind the British Andrea Lynch and in front of the Polish Irena Szewińska .

Monika Hamann belonged to SC Neubrandenburg . During her competition time she was 1.70 m tall and weighed 61 kg.
