The Victoria Lake is a lake in the southwest of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .
The 150 km² Victoria Lake extends in the WSW-ONO direction over a length of 40.5 km. The maximum width is 2.4 km. Originally, the Victoria River flowed through the lake in a northeastern direction and drained it to the Red Indian Lake in the north . As part of a larger hydropower project, the outflow was interrupted by a dam. Via a drainage channel, the water from Victoria Lake now reaches the neighboring Burnt Pond to the south , from which it continues to Granite Lake and Meelpaeg Lake . The water level of Victoria Lake averages 324.4 m . It fluctuates between 321 m and 326.5 m . The catchment area of the lake is estimated to be 1070 km².
