Victory Motorcycles was a motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Minneapolis , Minnesota ( USA ).
history
Victory Motorcycles was founded in 1997 as a subsidiary of Polaris Industries . The motorcycles were designed in the style of Harley-Davidson with V2 engines as tourers, choppers and cruisers.
At the beginning of September 2009, Polaris Germany GmbH announced 12 dealers for Germany in a newsletter. After that, the dealer network grew to 30. From October 2009 five models were exported to Europe via the Polaris headquarters in Griesheim , and from February 2012 all Victory models were also available in Switzerland.
The company also acquired the trademark rights from Indian . It develops, builds and sells motorcycles that are based on the myth of the Indian brand and in some cases strongly cite earlier Indian models (Scout, Chief, Chieftain) in terms of appearance.
In January 2017, Polaris announced the end of production and the liquidation of the Victory brand. Victory had made losses from 2011 to 2015 with no prospect of recovery. Since then, the group has concentrated on the Indian brand in the tradition-conscious cruiser motorcycle segment.
