Adam of Ebrach
Adam von Ebrach († November 23, 1166 ) was a Cistercian monk and first abbot of Ebrach.
It is believed that the Cistercian monk Adam first lived in the Cîteaux monastery , then in Morimond monastery , before he became abbot of the newly founded Ebrach monastery after 1127 . In 1134 the monastery church of the monastery, which was wealthy through many donations, was consecrated. After Ebrach, Adam founded six more monasteries and served the Pope, but also Friedrich Barbarossa several times as an arbitrator. Adam also tried to mediate in the schism .
