education
In Switzerland, a cattle dealer license is a prerequisite for practicing the profession. To do this, introductory courses must be attended and an examination by a cantonal veterinary office must be taken. The granting of patents is regulated by the federal government and the cantonal veterinary authorities. Cattle dealers need enough knowledge of the animals being handled to be able to determine their weight and the condition of the animal with regard to disease or injury.
anti-Semitism
The National Socialists had a decidedly negative impact on the reputation of cattle dealers.
"The cattle trade is a rogue trade."
