The four treasures of the scholar's room ( Chinese  文房四寶  /  文房四宝 , Pinyin wénfáng sì bǎo ) were the objects that a scholar needed to write and paint in the traditional Chinese Empire .

They are the most important tools with which he carries out his work.

Writing brush

Writing brush (  /  , ): Brushes are made from fine animal hair. The flexibility of the brush tip is its most significant feature.

ink

Indian ink ( , ) is stored and transported in the form of a stick as a stick ink: The three materials most frequently used for the production of Indian ink are soot from pine trees, oil and lacquer. Good Indian ink has a smooth surface, is firm and does not stick. Its black color is without cloudiness.
