The residential building Viersener Straße 123 is in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ) in the Am Wasserturm district .

The building was built in 1905 and entered into the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach on December 15, 1987 under No. V 015 .

On October 2, 2016, the house fell victim to a major fire, the fire broke out in the attic. The extinguishing work contributed to the rest, the house has been uninhabitable since then. Repair work began, but was not carried out any further. Status: May 3, 2017 - renovation is currently being continued Status 06/2017 Completion approx. 08/2018

Viersener Straße is the old connection from Mönchengladbach to Viersen , which was built towards the end of the 19th century. House no. 123 is a corner building on Am Neuen Wasserturm and Viersener Straße and is part of a historical development.

architecture

The house, built in 1912, has three storeys and has a rounded corner. The rough plaster facade shows nine unequal window axes . The property is worth protecting in connection with the new water tower and for architectural and urban planning reasons.
