The quarter moon knife is a saddler's knife for working leather and is also used by floor layers .

use

The saddler uses the quarter moon to cut and sharpen leather on a cutting board made of limewood to protect the cutting edge. It is used by the floor layer to push off the protruding weld seam after welding joints in floor coverings and is usually used with a joint slide for post-weld seam processing in two work steps.
