The quarter span was a Swedish measure of volume and grain . The quarter could be heaped up and painted.

  • 1 quarter span (heaped) = 1038 3/4 Parisian cubic inches = 20.6 liters
  • 1 quarter span (deleted) = 923 ¼ Parisian cubic inches = 18.3 liters

The dimensional chain was

  • 1 ton = 2 spans = 4 half spans = 8 quarter spans = 32 kappar = 56 jugs = 112 stoop = 448 quarters = 1792 place = 7386 Parisian cubic inches = 146 3/8 liters
