Stoop (unit)
The stoop , also called stoove or little room , was a measure of volume in the Netherlands and Sweden . The amount varied from region to region. Stübchen as the first name was a different volume measure.
The dimensional chain for liquids ( wine measure ) was
- 1 Fuder = 2 Pipen = 4 Oxhoft = 6 Ohm / Barrel = 12 Buckets = 24 Anchors = 360 Jugs = 720 Stoop = 2880 Quartier = 11520 Jungfrur
Netherlands
liquid measure
- Amsterdam 1 stoop = 2 Mingel = 4 pints = 120 Parisian cubic inches = 2 1/3 liters
- Antwerp 1 stoop = 160 Parisian cubic inches = 3 1/6 liters = 3.17 liters
- Rotterdam 1 stoop = 129 Paris cubic inches = 2 5/9 liters = 2.4 liters ( wine , brandy )
- Rotterdam 1 stoop = 5 pounds (light) = 2343 ¾ grams ( oil )
- 340 stoop = 1 ton (oil)
Sweden
liquid measure
- 1 stoop = 2 quarters = 8 virgins = 66 Parisian cubic inches = 1.3 liters
- 2 stoops = 1 pot
- 30 stoop = 1 anchor
- 60 stoop = 1 bucket
- 120 stoop = 1 ohm
- 180 Stoop = 1 Oxhoft
- 360 stoop = 1 pipe
- 720 stoop = 1 load
- 1 ton of flour and fish = 96 stoop
- 1 ton of tar and pitch = 95 stoop
Grain measure
The dimensional chain for dry goods ( grain measure ) was
- 1 ton = 2 spans = 4 half spans = 8 quarter spans = 32 kappar = 56 jugs = 112 stoop = 448 quarters = 1792 place = 7386 Parisian cubic inches = 146 3/8 liters
- 1 stoop = 4 quarters = 16 places = 66 Parisian cubic inches = 1.3 liters
- 2 stoops = 1 pot
- 3 ½ stoop = 1 cap
- 14 stoop = 1 quarter
- 28 stoop = 1 half span
- 56 Stoop = 1 clamping
- 112 stoop = 1 ton
