Jungfrur measure for brandy
Jungfrur , virgin , was a Swedish measure of volume and belonged to the small liquid and grain measures . The measure was derived from the Kanna / jug and was generally 1/32 of that.
With liquids was
- 1 virgin = 0.08182 liters
The dimensional chain for liquids was
- 1 Am ( Ohm ) = 4 Ankar (Anchor) = 60 Kanna (Kanne) = 120 Stop / Stoop = 480 Qvarter (Quart) = 1920 Jungfrur (Virgo)
- 1 Kanna = 2.618188 liters = 1/10 cubic foot
When used as a grain measure, it had to be struck with a match . For this purpose, per ton of grain or pulses 4, malt 6, building lime and salt 2 allowances in the size of Kappar were granted. The Kanna was the same size as the Kanna Liquids.
- 1 virgin = 0.08172 liters
The measuring chain for the grain measure was
- 1 Tonna ( ton ) = 2 Spann = 4 Halfspann / Skäppa = 8 Fjerding / Fjerdingar (quarter) = 32 Kappar = 56 Kanna = 112 Stop = 449 Qvarter = 1792 Jungfrur (place)
- 1 tonna = 7384 Parisian cubic inches = 146.45 liters
