The Viking IK was a Norwegian ice hockey club from Stavanger . The team existed from 1968 to 1996 and played for a long time in the Eliteserien , the highest Norwegian league.
history
The Viking Ishockeyklubb was founded in 1968. From 1978 to 1996 the professional team of the club played continuously in the top Norwegian league. Although the team managed to stay in the Elitserien in the 1995/96 season , the team went bankrupt at the end of the season. The club's tradition was then continued by Viking Hockey .
