Viktoria Kelsterbach (officially 1. FC Viktoria 07 Kelsterbach eV ) is a football club from the Hessian Kelsterbach in the Groß-Gerau district . The club played one season in the Hessenliga , the fifth highest division.

history

Viktoria Kelsterbach was founded on September 22, 1907, the club played the first game on October 6, 1912. The following year, the sports field on Helfmannstrasse was built. In the 1913/14 season Viktoria succeeded in winning the district championship and thus being promoted to the A-class. In 1914 the game was stopped because of the outbreak of the First World War . After the resumption of play in 1918, the club was assigned the new place Seven Morning at the Schwedenschanze by the community .

In the 1923/24 season Viktoria won several regional championships. From the late 1930s, handball teams for men and women were maintained in addition to the men's soccer team and an A youth team, and a school team was added in 1931. As part of the club's 25th anniversary, there was a game against Eintracht Frankfurt's second team in 1932 . At the end of the Second World War , gaming operations were interrupted again when, on March 26, 1945, Kelsterbach was captured by American troops. In 1947, Viktoria resumed gaming operations.

In the next few years, the A-youth celebrated some successes on a regional level, while the 1st team remained largely unsuccessful, in 1956 they were promoted to the 2nd amateur league, from which the club was relegated. It was not until 1966/67 that it was promoted to the second highest amateur class, which was now called the group league, in which the club stayed until 1973/75.

In 1995 Kelsterbach rose to the Landesliga Hessen , at that time the fifth highest division, in which they played until 1999. In 2004 you could return to the regional league, in which the club was able to hold itself after relegation and the subsequent promotion.

In the 2015/16 season, the club was promoted to the Hessen League for the first time , from which they were relegated in the following season in sixteenth. In 2017, the club was relegated to the association league, from which they withdrew to the regional league after the 2017/18 season. As bottom of the table, the club was relegated to the district league in 2019.
