Vila Nova de Muía is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Ponte da Barca . The community had 1,034 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Vila Nova de Muía, Paço Vedro de Magalhães and Ponte da Barca were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Ponte da Barca, Vila Nova de Muía e Paço Vedro de Magalhães .
