history
The villa was built from 1886 under the direction of the architect Ludwig Levy as the representative residence of the banker Adolf Dacqué . It is a building in the style of the Italian Neo-Renaissance and consists mainly of Königsbach sandstone. The interiors are characterized by decorative paintings on the stucco ceilings and rococo elements . The Hoch-Böhm family of wine merchants moved into the villa around 1900 and the name that is still used today comes from that time. From 1935 to 1944 it was the residence of the Gauleiter and Reich Commissioner Josef Bürckel . A fundamental renovation with the expansion to the current purpose took place in 1996.
In the garden is the grave slab of the collegiate dean and papal legate Heilmann von Wattenheim († 1411) from the Neustadt collegiate church .
location
Villa Böhm is located in a small park between Maximilianstrasse and Villenstrasse, with entrances to both streets, opposite the former Carstens KG sparkling wine cellar .
Events
