History and description

The villa was built in 1898/99 according to plans by the architect Albert Bauder for the sheet metal manufacturer Adolf Feyerabend. At that time it stood as a kind of country house in a spacious park that later fell victim to further residential developments.

Erected in the style of a romantic castle, the villa is a testimony to late historicism . Constructed of brick and adorned with ashlar , half-timbered and cast iron elements, it has an irregular facade structure with Gothic elements, elements close to the Renaissance and partly also due to early Art Nouveau .

The villa has a two-story hall with a staircase and gallery, which is decorated with carvings and “old German” painting.

Albert Bauder also designed a historic villa in Ludwigsburg for Feyerabend's business partner Kallenberg, but it does not seem to have been preserved. The company Kallenberg & Feyerabend was founded in 1851 as a general partnership; Adolf Feyerabend joined as a partner in 1887. In 1922 it was converted into a stock corporation. It was based at Solitudestrasse 46.
