History and description
The Villa Ritter is a manorial town house with two and a half storeys, which was built in the late 19th century, in the years 1888/1889, in the style of the neo-renaissance or neo- baroque . The Karlsruhe architect Ludwig Levy provided the plans . In 1909 a winter garden was added.
Past and current usage
The Villa Ritter was used by the Bundeswehr until the 2010s ; The district military replacement office was located in the premises. The building stood empty for a while, and has been a refugee accommodation since 2012. This type of use generated controversy among the population.
