Villa Romana del Tellaro
The Villa Romana del Tellaro is a Roman villa on the island of Sicily . It is located about nine kilometers south of Noto .
The villa was built in the second half of the 4th century around an approximately 20 × 20 m courtyard. The floor mosaics are very well preserved, some of which are similar to those of the Villa Romana del Casale , but are not that extensive. The following are particularly artistically designed:
- the hunting mosaic showing hunters hunting and the animals they have caught, and
- the Hector mosaic, which shows the scene in which Hector's body is weighed in gold.
