Cristina del Valle (born August 1, 1962 in Oviedo ) is a Spanish singer and activist from Asturias .

Life

In 1980 she went to Madrid to study criminology . She was active in non-governmental organizations (Ayora, Solidarios, Apram, etc.) and political parties in which she campaigned for human rights and against domestic violence or supported the autonomy of Western Sahara .

Career

Cristina del Valle started her career as a singer in the late 1980s with the band Vodebil , but her first release appeared under the stage name Cris . In 1991 she and Alberto Comesaña founded a rock-pop duo called Amistades Peligrosas , which gained great popularity in Spain and Latin America after the chart successes Estoy Por Ti and Me Haces Tanto Bien . After Amistades Peligrosas dissolved , she worked with the Spanish musician José Angel Hevia . Her album El Dios De Las Pequeñas Cosas led to another hit single Tormento in 1999 . The album Apuntes Generales Del Mundo followed in 2001. In 2003 she renewed the collaboration with Alberto Comesaña .
