The Villa Rustica von Buchs is the remains of a Roman estate near the town of Buchs in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .

Roman remains have been found here for a long time. In 1759 the mansion of the villa complex was excavated after a mosaic was found. There were further excavations in the first half of the 19th century. In 1958 an outbuilding was discovered. After road construction work there were further excavations in 1972 and 1977 to 1983.

The villa is located on the Mühleberg, which overlooks today's village. The entire villa complex took up an area of about 140 × 380 meters and was walled. At the upper end of the complex there was either a temple or a mausoleum, remains of which were found in the 19th century. The central mansion is about 55 × 29 meters. Several construction phases could be determined. On the front there is a crypto portico , on the wall of which there are still extensive remains of wall paintings that were also preserved on site. There was a bath wing in the western part of the villa. Its rooms were partly furnished with hypocausts and mosaics. Today the mosaics are only known from old copper engravings. Various farm buildings stood around the manor house, as well as another bathhouse.

The villa was once richly furnished. Various rooms were clad with Jura marble. Coin finds indicate that the villa was founded around 30 AD and was in operation until around 390 AD.
