history

The village has been known as Puhsaha (Bach bei Buchs) since the 9th century . Around 870 , the landowner gave Landelohe and thus Puhsaha to the St. Gallen monastery . Since a Roman road ran through the Furttal , Roman manors were built in Buchs and Dällikon , traces of which can still be seen today. In Buchs, the remains of the crypto portico of the manor can be viewed freely.
Buchs is the godparent community of Rüti GL .
traffic
Public transport
Like all municipalities in the canton of Zurich, Buchs is part of the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), zone 111.
Buchs is served as follows: From the S6, which runs every half hour from the Buchs-Dällikon station to Baden and Zurich HB during operating hours. Bus line 485 runs from Buchs via Regensdorf to Zurich-Frankental. Line 455 is a commuter bus that serves Buchs-Dällikon station from Monday to Friday in the morning and in the evening.
The coverage by public transport should not be described as optimal. It is approx. 750 meters from the train station to the next stop, which is served all day. The same also applies to the developments in the north-west, in particular. The walk to the train station is up to one kilometer. This fact is partly due to the settlement structure and the hillside location. This could be remedied by extending bus line 485 and / or line 455 if this only served the S6 in the main load direction. In this way the circuit could be extended.
Private transport
Buchs is on the main road between the Zurich-Affoltern motorway exit and the Wettinger Kreuz. The road is often used as an alternative route when traffic jams in the Gubrist tunnel and / or at the Limmattaler Kreuz. The traffic volume is up to 13,000 vehicles per day on weekdays. Relief of this situation can only be expected after the expansion of the Zurich north ring and the Gubrist tunnel. This will only be the case after 2020. Another focal point is the connection road between Buchs and Dielsdorf. At peak times, around 450 vehicles run per hour, some of which later find their way through the village center to the main road or drive along school paths. Therefore this connection should be blocked. It is still being discussed whether there should be a full or partial closure (as of December 2015).
